I’ve been deep in the work—building We Art St. Pete to help BIPOC artists grow, develop their careers, and get their work seen and sold. That’s been my focus for a while.

But now… I’m painting again.
I’ve started a new series called “We Walk Toward the Water.”
It’s personal. It’s about memory, migration, and the generation of women—like the mothers of my closest friends—who came here in the '80s and early '90s to care for America’s children and elders.

That story shaped everything around me.
This work will be part of my solo show in March 2026. More soon...

From Canvas to Community:
Over the years, my purpose has deepened. What began as a personal journey in art has grown into a mission: to uplift BIPOC artists—especially women—whose voices and visions have long been underrepresented. My work is no longer just about what I create, but about how I can create access, agency, and opportunity for others.

Gratitude, to me, is a practice. It shows up in action, in community, and in the spaces we build together.
As I continue my own creative path, I remain committed to mentoring and investing in the next generation of BIPOC artists.

Through We Art St. Pete, I’m working to create spaces where artists feel seen, supported, and empowered—where inclusion isn’t an afterthought, but the foundation.
Thank you for walking alongside me on this journey. Your support helps us all rise.

With love and creativity,
Vivia
